Why Neat Video Technology Is Top of the Class
Hayley Spooner, Mar 5, 2025

When it comes to hybrid learning, Neat is leading the way in supporting a new wave of geographically limitless classroom experiences. Not only are students connecting seamlessly with educators, highly sought-after experts from around the world are now able to collaborate effortlessly via video. We interviewed a selection of our customers in the education sector to discover why Neat devices deserve a gold star.
Making hybrid learning a sustainable long-term option
Miami Herbert Business School, part of the University of Miami, exemplifies the effective integration of Neat devices to support hybrid teaching models. Initially aiming to mitigate disruptions from events like hurricanes, the school began incorporating Neat Bars and Zoom Rooms into their classrooms. What happened next changed everything. Their new devices worked so well, they were too good to save for emergencies only. The school accelerated the initiative, encouraging each faculty to embrace hybrid learning every day, and adapting their curricula accordingly in new and creative ways.
Once we deployed Neat Bar and began using it with students, we found it offered a much more engaging and interactive experience than other options we’d tried. It allowed our faculty to develop more interactive curricula and create a more global learning environment.
Henrik Cronqvist, Vice Dean
Neat’s technology proved instrumental in making hybrid learning a sustainable, long-term solution rather than a temporary fix. Students benefited from improved engagement, as professors could switch seamlessly between in-person and virtual lessons without losing momentum. Educators were also able to invite business leaders from all over the world to make exciting contributions to lessons via video, greatly enriching students’ education and helping Miami Herbert Business School stand out from the crowd.
Achievement First, a U.S. charter management organization overseeing 41 charter schools, also leveraged Neat devices to deliver high-quality instruction across multiple locations. Achievement First wanted devices that were reliable, easy-to-use, and seamlessly integrated with their existing platforms. The intuitive design of Neat devices minimized the learning curve for teachers, allowing them to focus on teaching rather than technology.
Neat was the easiest solution to deploy. Our teachers are here to teach, not to troubleshoot tech. With Neat, they can just walk in, tap a button, and do their job without the stress of having to solve a technical issue.
Marques Stewart, Senior Director of Network & Cloud Infrastructure
Educational leaders at St. Isabella Catholic School in California, echoed these sentiments. Frustrated by traditional remote learning setups – struggling with poor sound quality, camera positioning, and laggy connections – St. Isabella’s turned to Neat for a virtual learning experience that fostered more flowing interaction. Here’s what one sixth-grade teacher had to say:
The students see me teach as I naturally would with them in the classroom every day. It allows me to focus on my lesson, not on troubleshooting tech.
Ann LaCose, Teacher

Flexibility that removes barriers to education
Across the waters at Waseda Business School in Tokyo, lecturers adopted Neat Boards to introduce a pioneering teaching model they call “HyFlex”. Accommodating both in-person and online students, HyFlex is all about having the highest degree of flexibility possible, empowering students and lecturers alike to participate from any location. The portability and large screen size of Neat Board made them perfect for the HyFlex style, turning any room into a hybrid space – without any limitations to visibility. Neat Board works without complex wiring too, making it a simple plug-and-play solution for all – even those who aren’t particularly technical.
Following the successful implementation of Waseda’s Neat-powered HyFlex model, the school began to attract an increasing number of students globally, improving access to education for people who might otherwise have been held back from learning by geographical or economic constraints.
By combining technology such as Neat Board with our teaching know-how, we differentiate ourselves and become more competitive internationally.

The Ooba Gakuen educational institution in Japan also chose Neat to overcome educational disparities in remote island regions – as well as tackle the issue of staff shortages. By connecting main campuses with distant classrooms, Neat devices facilitated real-time, interactive lessons. The clear audio and visual quality, combined with user-friendly operation, allowed educators to observe student reactions and adjust teaching methods accordingly, ensuring an effective educational experience across locations.
Neat Symmetry allowed us to zoom in on students sitting at the back of the classroom, and the devices captured their voices clearly. This made it easier to understand students’ expressions and reactions, enabling more interactive lessons.
Representative, Ooba Gakuen
This initiative has helped bridge the digital divide, providing students in rural areas with access to high-quality education, previously out of reach.
