Android 15 and Beyond: Why Your Neat Devices Keep Getting Better

Norma Lovhaugen, Oct 27, 2026

Android 15 is already running on several Neat devices, with more upgrades on the way. Discover how Neat OS helps the devices you already own stay current, capable, and ready for what’s next.

Your meeting spaces should keep pace with your organization, not hold it back. As collaboration platforms evolve, security requirements change, and new capabilities emerge, IT teams need confidence that the devices they invest in today will continue to serve them well tomorrow.

At Neat, we develop our hardware and Neat OS software together, helping our devices keep improving long after installation and giving organizations greater flexibility without unnecessary hardware replacements.

The year you bought your Neat device shouldn’t define what it can do today. As Neat OS evolves, devices you’ve relied on for years can continue to benefit from software improvements, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver a modern meeting experience. You don’t always need new hardware to enjoy a better experience.

In our previous blog, we outlined our roadmap for Android 13 and beyond, explaining how our hardware and software strategy would help customers protect their investments and prepare for future platform requirements.

Today, we’re delivering on that commitment, bringing Android 15 to a growing number of Neat devices while preparing the rest of our supported portfolio for the next stage of upgrades.

From Android 13 to Android 15: Progress you can count on

Each Android upgrade helps us strengthen the software behind our devices, bringing improvements in security, performance, and compatibility while extending their useful life.

Our transition to Android 13 marked an important step in that journey, establishing the groundwork for the Android 15 rollout now underway.

Neat Center, Neat Pad Pro, Neat Pad Gen 2, and Neat Board 32 already support Android 15. Next in line are Neat Pad, Neat Bar Gen 2, Neat Bar Pro, Neat Board 50, Neat Board Pro, and Neat Frame, extending the upgrade roadmap across much of our existing portfolio.

We’ll bring Android 15 to more Neat devices as we complete the necessary testing and platform certifications.

Why staying current matters

For IT teams, keeping meeting room devices up to date is about more than accessing the latest features. It also means maintaining compatibility, planning upgrades with confidence, and managing deployments efficiently over time.

Meeting room deployments often represent significant investments, particularly for organizations managing hundreds or thousands of spaces. Replacing otherwise capable hardware because its underlying software no longer meets current requirements creates unnecessary expense, disruption, and additional work for IT.

Extending the life of meeting room devices also has environmental benefits. Keeping equipment in productive use can reduce the need for replacement hardware and the resources required to manufacture, transport, and deploy new products.

Built for a changing collaboration environment

Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom each have their own certification requirements, software roadmaps, and approaches to device support. For organizations investing in meeting room technology, keeping pace with these developments is essential.

Based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Neat OS provides a common software foundation across our portfolio. Our integrated approach to hardware and software development helps us adapt our devices to new platform requirements while maintaining a consistent Neat experience. This approach also supports our commitment to giving organizations greater choice in how they equip and manage their meeting spaces.

We’re working with our platform partners on the necessary certifications, with approvals expected ahead of the broader Android 15 rollout.

Looking beyond Android 15

Android 15 marks another milestone in our long-term software strategy. Looking further ahead, we plan to bring Android 17 to all our Gen 2 products, reinforcing our commitment to extending device lifecycles through continued software development. We’ll share more details as our roadmap progresses.
