Leading Indian online travel company MakeMyTrip uses Neat devices with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Copilot for simpler, more enjoyable, memorable meetings. MakeMyTrip has deployed our dynamic, sleek-looking Neat Board, Neat Board 50, and Neat Bar Pro with Neat Pad devices throughout various small, medium, and large rooms for up to 22 people. It controls its Neat device deployment through our Neat Pulse cloud management service.
For us, it’s essential how the devices look. Many external partners, such as hotel chains and directors, visit our office. If somebody comes to an executive meeting, no cables are poking out, and the camera is well-integrated. With Neat, everything looks clean and tidy, which leaves a marvelous first impression. MakeMyTrip is a leading Indian online travel company founded in 2000. Its headquarters are in Gurugram, southwest of New Delhi, and its tech offices are in Bangalore, India. As of June 2023, the company has 146 active franchisees operating in over 100 cities. MakeMyTrip also has international offices in New York, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Bangkok, Dubai, and Istanbul. It provides online travel services, including airline tickets, domestic and international holiday packages, hotel reservations, and rail and bus tickets, primarily for Indians wishing to travel.
Using Microsoft Copilot as an essential customer-relations tool
Having primarily used another video conferencing platform during and since the pandemic, MakeMyTrip is gradually transitioning to Microsoft Teams after investing in Microsoft Copilot licenses. Microsoft Copilot is Microsoft’s AI assistant for work, helping people enhance their business creativity and productivity. In Microsoft Teams, people can use Microsoft Copilot to present information for upcoming meetings, transcribe meetings, and provide debriefs if anyone joins a meeting late. After a meeting, it can summarize discussion points, list key actions deliberated, and answer questions covered.
Microsoft Copilot enables MakeMyTrip to integrate all its Microsoft Teams meetings, highlight the speaker, and capture and summarize everyone’s conversations. For example, before, employees couldn’t continue where a previous meeting left off, but they can now. Microsoft Copilot enables them to recap and summarize what was discussed with a customer, partner, or one of their teammates earlier, offering better-quality follow-up meetings with greater context for everyone.

Transitioning to simpler, less complex video technology
MakeMyTrip initially heard about Neat after someone recommended our 65-inch touchscreen device, Neat Board. Before that, the company had multiple issues with its earlier video technology—a mixed bag of devices, displays, and webcams. For example, someone would unplug the camera or screen or change the settings in the room but not return things to their original state once they finished. As a result, the next person or persons using the room would need help to start their meeting.
That meant that one of the company’s IT personnel would have to check every room each morning, leading to Gurpreet and his team experiencing many drawn-out working hours. Thankfully, that’s not the case anymore. Neat’s efficient, out-of-the-box experience, with easy-to-understand installation, setup, and user guides, made MakeMyTrip’s employees immediately comfortable using our board and bar devices. So, before long, with minimal training, they didn’t need any significant help from IT to start a meeting or adjust settings.
Joining a Microsoft Teams meeting from one of our rooms was formerly not a “neat” experience, but now it is. We simply join by punching in the meeting ID. One of our boardrooms runs natively on Teams. If you need to join an external meeting, you only need to enter the ID. The user experience cross-platform is great, and everybody is happy.

Experiencing closer, more natural, equitable video meetings
Once its Neat devices were up and running, MakeMyTrip was smitten with our audio and video quality and many unique, cutting-edge features. Neat Symmetry, in particular, proved a hit. Whereas people on the far end of a call before found it challenging to engage with people in a room because many appeared too far back or spread out, now it’s easier to track who said what, as all in-room participants appear equally up close in their own frame on the screen. Neat Symmetry presents everyone in the meeting room equally up close, whether sitting, standing, or moving around. Focusing on whoever’s talking and the expressions of others, Neat Symmetry enables remote participants to engage in more natural, free-flowing conversation.
Neat Bar Pro, Neat Board, and Neat Board 50 each offer an almost identical experience, leveraging superb audio and video quality with Neat Symmetry to dramatic effect, enabling all meeting participants to feel like everyone’s sitting in the same room. “The image is so clear, so the comfort level is there,” said Gurpreet. As for his favorite Neat device, Gurpreet loves our Neat Board 50 device. “Neat Board 50 is the perfect size for any room. Its active stand is great, and the device is so easy to use,” he enthused.
Controlling devices from one location on an intuitive UI
MakeMyTrip manages its Neat devices through Neat Pulse, our pioneering cloud management service, on a Pro plan. Neat Pulse offers remote monitoring and management capabilities for MakeMyTrip’s complete Neat device deployment across all its offices globally. This makes life much easier for Gurpreet and his team of IT engineers, who can now control everything from one centralized location rather than physically being in a room to conduct checks, change settings, or fix any issues. Neat Pulse allows them to see and fix problems before anyone experiences them.
Neat Pulse makes our IT specialists’ jobs much more manageable. The UI is very good: it’s a simple scroll to see which room and device is not working for whatever reason. The experience is so easy. Suppose somebody messages us, and we need to fix something. In that case, we can see everything in Neat Pulse without sending a specialist to the rooms that often.

Healthier, safer, more cost-effective meeting spaces
Another groundbreaking feature within Neat Pulse is Neat Sense, which gives accurate real-time room analytics for healthier, safer, more cost-effective meeting spaces. MakeMyTrip uses Neat Sense to track the temperature and humidity levels of its rooms and device performance. For example, the temperature and humidity levels are very high in June. Hence, it can cool its rooms to an optimal degree to safeguard its devices and, at the same time, save on energy costs.
Talking of saving, we’re reserving our favorite quote from Gurpreet to last. We asked him the following fun question: If Neat was a means of transportation to a far-off destination, what would we be and why?
